Passover Celebration

Passover is one of the oldest and most significant festivals in the biblical tradition, and its importance within Christianity is deeply rooted in the life and ministry of Jesus Christ. Known in Hebrew as Pesach, Passover commemorates the deliverance of the Israelites from slavery in Egypt, as recorded in the Book of Exodus. According to the biblical account, God instructed Moses to lead the people out of bondage, and the final act of liberation came through the tenth plague, when the firstborn in Egypt were struck down. The Israelites were told to mark their doorposts with the blood of a lamb so the angel of death would “pass over” their homes, sparing them from judgment.
