The Veil of Veronica

The Veil of Veronica is one of the most enduring and evocative images in Christian tradition. Though not mentioned in the canonical Gospels, it has captured the imagination of believers for centuries. According to early Christian legend, Veronica was a woman from Jerusalem who stepped forward as Jesus carried His cross to Calvary. Moved by compassion, she offered Him her veil to wipe the sweat and blood from His face. When He returned it to her, His likeness had been miraculously imprinted on the cloth. This simple act of kindness, and the miraculous image it left behind, became a powerful symbol of devotion and divine presence.
